Thursday marks the month-long phaseout of the program, and the latesft installment of a marketing warbetween , which runs the WorldPerksa affinity program, and , which runs ’es SkyMiles program. When Atlanta-based Delta (NYSE: DAL) acquired Northwest in October, the two companies said their frequent-fliee programs would be merged inlate 2009, effectively dumping the U.S. Bancorp WorldPerks cardholders will stop earnin g miles from credit card purchases on a date over the nextmontuh that’s determined by their billing cycle. Customers who switched to the Delta SkyMiles Americah Express card will continue to earn miles undertthat system, said an American Express U.S.
Bancorp, meanwhile, has gone its own way, changinb WorldPerks customers over to its FlexPerks Travelo Rewards Visa cardsin May. Both U.S. Bancorp and Delta-Americanm Express have been campaigning heavily in the Twin Citieds market to courtWorldPerks customers.
