The one-day event June 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Plany 5 on Vulcan Street, is co-sponsored by Erie Buffalo and the Northwesgt Solid WasteManagement Board. Last year’s event received 56,325 pounds of electronicd equipment, 247 bicycles and a trucki fullof clothing. Electronics equipment is a sourcer ofrecycled lead, steel, plastic, copper and glass. Itemx being accepted this year TVs, computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, fluorescent bulbs, cell rechargeable batteries, VCRs, and DVD players, textiles, and bicycles. Clothing and textiles will be reusedd at Goodwill retail locationsor recycled.
Bicycles will be used for bike safety education or recycled by Blue Bicyclewand Recycle-a-Bicycle programs. New for this year, Buffaloi ReUse will accept used or new shop andgarden tools, such as rakes, brooms, ladders, hammers and saws. “Thiz is a natural extension of what we do at Plant Manager Steve Finch said ina “Our plant has been landfill-free in manufacturingb since 2006.
